I have a 1991 gmc sierra with a 350 thats worn-out. I've been playing with
the idea of building another engine for it (over the years I've picked up a
few parts here and there, 461 heads from a 327 they're ported and pollished,
valves(still stock size) and seats are freshly ground, speed-pro cs-1174r
hyd. flat tappit camshaft new still in box, speed-pro pistons (10 cc dish/
.040 oversize) p-423, i think, still in box, a 4 bolt 350 block.)
I,ve been playing with the idea of assembling an engine with said parts and
an edlebrock or holley intake (such as the torker or dominator, as long as I
can find one that accepts an egr valve) what ever I can find. Looking at my
intake, I should be able to bolt everything on (the tbi with an addapter
plate). I will have to keep the stock exaust for now, but would like to
upgrade in the future.
I would like it to run on 87 oct. gas because living where I do you can't
allways count on gas quallity.
Camshaft specs. @0.050
DUR.: 209int./216ex
CAM LIFT: 290int./303ex.
LOBE CTRS.:107int./117ex.
I have 1.5 rockers for the intake and 1.6 rockers for the exaust.
I know it seems like an odd combination, but my truck really needs a new
engine, and I have these spare parts, but not alot of money so I'm trying to
get a little extra power and a new(rebuilt) engine for my truck for as
little as possible.
Is there a companie here in canada that can burn a chip for this
combination?
Any information will be appreciated.
Thank you.
