Has anyone heard of the front tires (street) popping off the wheels during
hard cornering in an older, heavier car like a 70 chevelle?

If a nation values anything more than freedom, it will lose its freedom;
and the irony of it is that if it is a comfort or money it values more,
it will lose it too.

Sounds like something you might have heard at a bragging session.
They weren't that fast and still alllowed on the street.

"But now is the time for the younger men to lock in rough encounters,
time for me to yield to the pains of old age. But there was a day I shone among the champions."

Homer, The Illiad, 23.715-719 (800 BC). King Nestor of Pylos.
